Samsung & future shorts create innovative partnership

Samsung Mobile and Future Shorts, leading global short film label and festivals, have created a new partnership to promote the new Samsung i8910 HD. The partnership, brokered by Starcom and elevenfiftyfive, centres around commissioning 4 x 4min HD short films by four renowned directors from the commercial, music video, feature film and fashion industry to make an HD short which brings to life ‘spontaneously capture your life in HD’.

“Samsung Mobile will become part of Future Shorts community and through this partnership create a whole new audience of switched on and engaged filmmakers and film lovers, inspired by the latest technology and the most creative short film directors working today,” said Derek Williamson, General Manager, Samsung Mobile.

All four Samsung commissioned HD shorts films will be hosted as part of the world’s first HD Mobile Short Film Festival.

Each film will be played in various locations as part of the Future Shorts Festival, a quarterly event, starting on May 15th to coincide with the launch of the Samsung i8910 HD as well as across the Future Shorts You Tube channel.

The public will be asked to vote for their favourite film and from June 5th Pearl & Dean will showcase the winning entry as part of the very first 108 screen, pre reel, HD digital network.

“We reach 10m people a year with our content, representing serious media value and an audience that trusts us to deliver the best content from around the world. We have a large and engaged community who appreciate and enjoy relevant premium content from a relevant quality brand. Future Shorts and Samsung Mobile are set on catapulting the short film medium into the mainstream through a highly innovative and original partnership,” said Fabien Riggall, Creative Director and Founder of Future Shorts.
